LOLS:SERIOUS BUSINESS

This webpage has a new raison d' etre, the same one that all of us have: LOLS. In days and years past, this webpage linked to my opinions about things. But there are enough opinions in the world, already, and not enough lols. Lols are a road seldom travelled by the multitude, but here we are: In rough chronological order: This page will probably take a while to load!

I made this one after accidentally writing "Im ur base!" during a game of Wesnoth, and thinking who it could apply to. I didn't know how to outline text yet, so instead I just used a robot-looking font. Made around the 21st of November, 2007.
I still didn't know how to outline text properly when I made this, so my good friend Qousqous finished the outlining for me. The joke refers to Senator Ted Stevens, who would provide me with more lines than even Larry Craig. 12th of December, 2007
This is where my macro making career really begin. I wanted to make a water bear macro, and I got this picture. I was thinking that maybe it needed an "invisible something" caption, but then the hokey-pokey idea occured to me. The writing is kind of crude, but its one of my best concepts and best done pictures. This is also where I started using red writing, black highlighting. 29th of December, 2007

This is a political comment. Its true, but it is kind of a throw-away joke, like many forced politicalols can be. One thing about macros is you can't just have a concept, you have to have a good picture. Except in this case, you don't, because the picture portrays flavorlessness very well. 8th of January, 2008
This is another animal that might be less than cute, but is cute in spite of it. It is a take off on the well known "I see what you did there" macros of cats. This is also one of my macros that seems to have escaped, and is posted up on a forum that gets some traffic. No red text here, for technical reasons. 13th of January, 2008

I was walking through a shopping center in Gresham when I came up with this. I think I had a bit of a time figuring out how to find a picture of the fibonacci sequence, but the sunflower is the natural icon for it. Some pedants have told me that the Fibonacci sequence isn't a series. It is, it just isn't a mathematical sequence. So there! 27th of January, 2008

This text is taken, almost totally from this macro. The person in the picture is, of course, Kool Moe Dee, one of the greatest MCs ever, and someone who always wanted to fight against stereotypes about young black men, and the hip-hop community. It was hard getting all the text in there, and it ended up looking somewhat blocky and robotic looking. At first I wasn't happy with the text style, but then I thought it fits Kool Moe Dee's style rather well. 29th of January, 2008

Another picture that might strain the puns, but it also has teh keai! Also, at the time I made it, it strained my macro making abilities, because I had to cut and paste and resize and all that. Also, at the time I made it, instead of cutting the image and then using the gimps move tool, I cut it into a brush, and then painted the images next to each other. But off center. This is one of my favorite macros ever. I made it after someone on a macro community claimed about how me using red text was "atrocious". This person had made similar comments before, and it seemed to be a very silly thing to have a grudge about. So I posted this. It seems to be kind of the final word. Ah, back to Zelda, and of course, a political joke. This macro took a bit of time to make. And perhaps it will have a short shelf life, although there will be more speculative companies that will fail in the future, I am sure.
